I ordered Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell from Amazon.com the other day. It looks pretty interesting and the reviews are pretty good. I was at Barnes and Noble on Friday and I noticed that the book was shrinkwrapped, so I couldn't read the first few paragraphs. I wonder why they did that? Oh - I didn't buy it at Barnes and Noble because I knew it would be cheaper at Amazon.com - I was right. Barnes and Noble is such a rip-off with that club you have to pay for to save money.

I, Trevor Burgan, respectfully request reimbursement in the amount of twelve (12) dollars for expenses incurred providing refreshments for the Southern California Govt. GIS User Group meeting for which the City of Santa Ana graciously acted as host city on Tuesday the Fourteenth of September at Nine o' Clock Ante Meridian. The twelve (12) dollars was used to acquire one (1) dozen hot original glazed yeast-raised doughnuts and an additional one (1) dozen doughnuts of an assorted variety. This variety of doughnuts included several doughnuts of the cream filled variety, several doughnuts of the "old fashioned" variety and several doughnuts with various glazes and/or sprinkles. During the transaction in which the doughnuts were to be paid for with the said twelve dollars, the machine used to collect the funds and provide a record of the transaction temporarily malfunctioned. Brunswick Scooby Doo Glow bowling ball. Ruh-Roh!

I read about this show a few years ago and I always wanted to see it. Now that it's finally in Los Angeles , it could be my only chance to see it because most of the time it's only in Europe. Unfortunately, it's not kid appropriate, so I'm not sure if I will be able to go.

Went to Del Mar racetrack on Saturday with the kids. During the summer they have "Family Weekend" activities which consist of 3 giant inflatable play things (slide, obstacle course and bounce house), one guy on stilts, one guy in a horse costume, face painting, pony rides and a petting zoo that we couldn't find. There was also supposed to be a "spin the prize wheel" and magicians but we didn't see those either. So we packed up a picnic lunch, made up a pitcher of margaritas to sneak in (there was a cooler inspection, but they didn't really look very hard), gathered up our chairs and umbrella and set up camp in the infield. The weather was great and the kids had fun. At one point, Stone got separated from Layla and a security officer brought him back to us but that was the only excitement of the day. We stayed for about 6 races and we couldn't pick a winner to save our lives, but we still had good time.

The TiVo Windows Media Library Support program has been updated for compatibility with Tivo Desktop version 1.1 . Grab it now! (Not yet tested with Windows Media 10). In other news the new Tivo Desktop 1.1 no longer crashes the Tivo Server program at startup for me. That problem was really annoying, so I'm glad it's fixed.

Scent Stories might be the first step towards smell-o-vision. It kinda looks cheesy and if you wait a few months I bet you'll be able to pick one up for 10 bucks in the clearance aisle.

The site bills the journey as the American Dream , but I'm not sure about that. Interesting idea though...I wonder how he's making money doing it...sponsors? Website donations?
