Why are you in such a hurry to leave the DDR?

That's a quote from a movie, but I can't remember which one. Maybe it was a Bond flick...or perhaps some comedy...anyway, for some reason that line came to mind when I was reading this.

Two years ago on this day, I woke up, took a shower, went downstairs and flipped on the TV before I left for work. On the news they were showing the planes hitting the towers and I ran upstairs to tell Shireen. I had to leave to go to Polly's Bakery Cafe in Santa Ana because it was Will's birthday and the supervisors were going to buy him breakfast. I wasn't very hungry so I only ordered toast - It didn't feel right to be eating breakfast there that day.
