Food hacks - Bread tie color

The section on Food hacks in the 43 Folders Wiki has this bit of knowledge: "If you don't like to freeze your bread for maximum freshness, it'd be helpful to pay attention to the ties on your bread packages. They tell the dates the bread was baked: Monday - Blue , Tuesday - Green , Thursday - Red , Friday - White, Saturday - Yellow . --lure 25 Mar 05" Could this possibly be true? Why don't they bake bread on Wednesday?

Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell - Review

I finally finished this book a week or so ago. When I saw it in the bookstore and read some of the hype surrounding it, I'll admit I was excited to read it. So, I dove into the beefy novel, reading a chapter or so each night. It was tough read because it's written in the style of literature from the late 1800s and you end up reading and re-reading certain paragraphs to make sure you understand what's going on. Also, this book makes liberal use of footnotes and sometimes the footnote "stories" can be pages long. In the beginning of the book I found this to be a novelty and eagerly read each footnote assuming they were somehow important. Towards the end, I all but skimmed the footnotes or skipped them entirely because they usually weren't interesting. But I really wanted to like this book so I kept reading. Chapter after ponderous chapter I read - still hoping it would get more exciting - but that hope was left unfulfilled. Overall, the story/plot was not that ...

MirrorMask

Image
This MirrorMask movie looks pretty strange. Lots of cool creatures from the Jim Henson Studios. It looks a little like Labyrinth or Dark Crystal, kind of spooky with lots of trippy music going on. There doesn't seem to be a release date posted, which is odd. I think when they don't have an official release date it means one of two things. The movie isn't finished yet, but it's supposed be and they are behind schedule. or... The movie is not blockbuster level material and they are having a difficult time choosing when to release it so it doesn't get killed by whatever else is being released at the same time.

amaztype is both weird and cool.

Morrowind GOTY Tips and Tricks

I picked up Morrowind The Elder Scrolls III at Target for $19.99 a while ago. When it came out, I just couldn't justify spending the full 40 bucks for it - but for 20 bucks with TWO expansion packs? That's a different story! Here's a small collection of tips and tricks I found: Hannah's Whereizit Morrowind Answers The Elder Scrolls Forums - Hints for Beginners - New and Improved (Updated)! Blogging about work...

This article on Blogging at work pretty much sums up why it's not a good idea to write anything about your place of employment. I really don't write much about working at Santa Ana. If I did and somebody higher up than me didn't like what I wrote, it could make life at work "uncomfortable".

Stuck in my head, Uh-huh.
