I see that the LOTR trilogy box set is available now, but it's only the theatrical version. I've read that the Return of the King Extended Edition won't be available until November/December, so I bet that the entire Extended Edition box set won't be available until sometime in 2005. I can wait. I guess.

I picked up one of those Gillette M3 Power Razors over the weekend. I didn't think a shave could be better than the regular Mach3 , but the vibrating power of the M3 Power proved me wrong. It felt like I was using an electric shaver, but I was getting the benefits of a blade. Shaving still sucks, but for me it has evolved over the years into a product laden ritual because I get the dreaded "razor bumps" if I'm not careful. Currently a shaving session goes like this: Wash face with unscented Neutrogena® face soap . The unscented is good because the regular version smells like baby powder and that's the worst smell to have on your face. Scrub face with Neutrogena® Razor Defense Daily Face Scrub . I just started using this product recently and I'm not convinced that it does anything more than soap. Sure, it feels scrubby, but is it worth it? I probably won't buy it again unless it's on sale. Already 6 years old....where did the time go?

Bloglines is my newest time suck. I can't seem to check it often enough! It's great because there's always something new to read and it's all listed in one handy window. At one point I found this other RSS reader that lived inside Outlook, it was neat...but it wasn't free. You can even use Bloglines to publish to a "clip blog" so you can save articles you like.

The Wikipedia is a free, open-content encyclopedia. I've read about the wikipedia, but for some reason I've never visited the site. Now that I have, it looks like a cool idea. People write about what they know and submit it and other people get a chance to see and/or edit what you've submitted.

I escaped! Yesterday they finally picked all 12 members of the Jury and swore them in. Then after a short recess, it was time to pick the "alternates". There were only about 15 more people left in the pool and of course my name was called. So I go up there and start to answer all the standard questions, occupation, prior service, victim of crime, ever been arrested, etc. I have been a victim of crime. About 20 or so years ago, I was robbed in Westwood with a group of friends after we got out of a late movie. As we walked back to our car, there was a guy standing on the corner just kind of hanging out - for whatever reason, we didn't think anything was odd about that. Perhaps we were a bit naive, growing up in the suburbs away from this type of stuff. In any case, as we approached him he pulled out his gun and demanded our wallets, watches and jewelry. My velcro wallet contained 10 cents and my high school identification card - so giving it up wasn't really a proble...

I spent all yesterday hanging out at Jury Duty, but it wasn't that bad. The first half of the day I played Diablo 2 and UT 2004 while I waited for my name to be called. Then right before lunch they finally called me and told me to report to a courtroom at 1:30. They spent all afternoon going over all the standard jury questions, but by 4:40 they still hadn't finished. So far I haven't been selected, but today I have to go back at 9 a.m. so they can finish filling the jury box. If I'm lucky I'll escape service....
